Steering Committee (Japan)

Dr Anders Karlsson is the Vice-President of the Global Strategic Networks at Elsevier, Japan, and the Chair of the Japan Chapter of the International Association of Scientific, Technical and Medical Publishers (STM). He has been a Visiting Scientist at NTT Basic Research Labs, Stanford University, École Polytechnique Paris, and Zhejiang University, as well as a Senior Advisor at Osaka University.

Dr Karlsson has a background in science diplomacy, having headed the Embassy of Sweden Office of Science and Innovation in Tokyo, as well as in academia, having served as Professor of Quantum Photonics at the Royal Institute of Technology – KTH in Sweden.
