Dr Meghnath Dhimal

Dr Meghnath Dhimal is a Chief Research Officer at the Nepal Health Research Council, Government of Nepal, and an Associate Academician at the Nepal Academy of Science and Technology. He is also currently a Member of the Global Young Academy, a Member of the Research Coordination and Development Council of Tribhuvan University, the Founder Coordinator of the Young Scientists Forum Nepal, and a contributing author to IPCC’s Sixth Assessment Report.
He has more than 20 years of research, teaching and policy formulation experience, especially in the field of environmental health, climate change and health, non-communicable diseases, neglected tropical diseases, global health and the Sustainable Development Goals. Dr. Dhimal also serves as a member of WHO South East Asia regional expert group on environmental determinants of health and climate change, member of Welcome Trust’s technical advisory committee on health effects of heat interventions, steering committee member of Future Earth Health Knowledge Action Network and an Editor of several international peer reviewed Journals.
