Announcing: New Chair of INGSA-LAC
INGSA and INGSA LAC have selected Guillermo Anlló, Senior Specialist of UNESCO’s Policy Programme on Science, Technology and Innovation for Latin America and the Caribbean, for the position of President of the Executive Committee of the Regional Chapter of INGSA Latin America and the Caribbean for the period 2025-2027. This selection opens the opportunity to generate a positive synergy between UNESCO and INGSA’s agendas in the region, which we hope will result in a greater outreach of our initiatives.
INGSA would like to thank all the applicants for their time and interest in guiding INGSA-LAC’s next stage of development. The INGSA Secretariat would also like to extend a huge thank you to Dr Carlos Abeledo, who has been the Chair of INGSA-LAC since its inception. He has been tireless in building the Chapter’s regional presence and has been a wise and active member of the INGSA Board, shaping INGSA’s growth internationally.
The new regional representative of INGSA will give continuity to the work of the Chapter in its context and will provide greater dynamism in the development of cooperation networks with national and regional actors committed to the formulation of policies supported by information and scientific knowledge.
Since its creation in 2017, INGSA-LAC has strengthened its presence in the region as a reference space in the link between science and public policy. The immediate challenge is to encourage greater integration of the issue into the agendas of national and regional institutions, both in the academic and political spheres.
INGSA wishes Guillermo the greatest success in this new challenge!
