Winners of Seeds of Science, Asia (SOSA) 2025

The International Network for Governmental Science Advice – Asia (INGSA-Asia) in collaboration with the ISC Regional Focal Point for Asia and the Pacific (ISC RFP-AP) is proud to announce that ten recipients will be receiving seed grants under the 2025-2026 Seeds of Science, Asia initiative.

The Seeds of Science, Asia (SOSA), an expanded initiative of INGSA-Asia’s Grassroots Science Advice Promotion Awards program, will be offering ten recipients seed grants of up to AUD 9,500 along with expert mentorship to run workshops, dialogues and advocacy activities that strengthen the science policy nexus and promote science engagement in their respective home countries.

 The winners are:

  1. Mrs. Merry Krisdawati & Mr. Kansip (Indonesia) – Empowering Communities for Sustainable Agriculture: Policy Engagement and Biofertilizer Innovation 
  2. Dr. Khalid Md Bahauddin & Dr. Syful Islam (Bangladesh) – Science for Safer Cities: Co-Designing Urban Resilience with Local Governments through Inclusive Science Communication in Bangladesh
  3. Dr. Xu Li & Prof. Haifeng Zhang (China) Embedding Precision Exercise Monitoring into National Fitness Governance: Evidence-Informed Policy-Making and Public Engagement in China
  4. Prof. Kornsorn Srikulnath & Dr. Peechanit Ketsuwan (Thailand) Initiating University-Based OECMs in Thailand: Multi-Stakeholder Dialogue for Policy and Practice
  5. Prof. Dr. Noorsaadah Abd Rahman & Mrs Hazami Habib (Malaysia) Guidelines on Open Science in the APEC Region
  6. Dr. Muhammad Zahid Farooq & Dr. Muhammad Zubair Ahmed (Pakistan) – Harnessing Indigenous Seaweed to Reduce Livestock Methane Emissions in Pakistan: A Policy-Practice Dialogue Working Title: From Coast to Cow: Evaluating Pakistan’s Seaweed for Livestock Methane Reduction and Policy Uptake
  7. Mr. Joselito Ocol & Dr. Regina Valencia (Philippines) – Young Waves: Empowering Youth through Sustainable Seaweed Farming in the Philippines
  8. Assoc Prof. Sonam Tashi & Dr. Jambay Dorjee (Bhutan) Science for Policy: Advancing Implementation of Bhutan’s Agri-Food Strategy 2034 through Inclusive Policy Dialogue
  9. Assoc Prof. Ah-young Parl & Mr. Hyunsoo Lim (South Korea) – Enhancing Sustainability in Digital Infrastructure: From Local to Eco-system
  10. Dr. Chi Thanh Tran & Ms. Hao Linh Vuong Thi (Vietnam) Science Communication to Enhance Awareness among Politicians and Policymakers on Nuclear Power
