Dr Farah Ouechtati holds a PhD in Human Genetics from the University of Tunis El Manar. She was formerly Assistant Professor in Neuroscience and has experience in biomedical research, project management, as well as partnerships in public and private sectors at national and international levels.

Dr Ouechtati has also worked on science-policy interface, stakeholder engagement in health organisations, and evaluation with the Ministry of High Education. She was recognised as an International Rising Talent by UNESCO and the L’Oréal Foundation in 2014, and joined the Global Young Academy in 2021.
