
Karina Pombo
She holds a degree in International Relations from the University of Belgrano, a specialization in Regional Integration from FLACSO, and a Master’s degree in Communication Management in Organizations from Austral University. From 2020 to January 2024, she served as National Director of Science Policy Promotion at the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation of Argentina, the office responsible for defining and implementing international cooperation policy in science, technology, and innovation.
From 1994 to 2002, she worked in specialized international science departments within the government, implementing and managing cooperation initiatives. Between 2005 and 2016, she coordinated the Bilateral Area of the National Directorate of International Relations at the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation. She participated in the creation of cooperation programs such as ECOS and AMSUD with France, the Argentine-German University Center (CUAA), and the Latin American Center for Biotechnology (CABBIO), among others.
She has participated as an Argentine institutional representative before bilateral joint commissions and regional and multilateral organizations and forums such as the ICGEB, CYTED, SEGIB, and the Mercosur RECYT. She has also served as a consultant for international organizations such as the Organization of American States (OAS), OEI, IAI, and the European Union. Currently, she is the Regional Programme Officer for INGSA Latin America and the Caribbean, a consultant and lecturer in Scientific Cooperation and Diplomacy, Coordinator of the Diploma Program in Diplomacy, and Director of Institutional Relations, Cooperation, and Communication at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Museum of the National University of La Plata.
