Steering Committee (Sri Lanka)

Prof Sirimali Fernando is a Senior Professor and the Chair of Microbiology at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. She is also a fellow of the National Academy of Sciences and a member of the National Science and Technology Commission of Sri Lanka, as well as a member of the Governing Board of the International Science Council.

Prof Fernando was previously the Science Advisor to the Minister of Science and Technology and the Chairperson of the National Science Foundation of Sri Lanka, as well as a member of the Science, Technology, and Innovation Advisory Board to the Secretary General of the UN-ESCAP.
