Consejo Mexicano de Ciencias Sociales, A.C.
The Mexican Council of Social Sciences (COMECSO) is an organization established in 1977 by a cohort of academics dedicated to develop and promote social sciences in Mexico. Currently, it comprises 100 affiliated institutions from across the nation, organized into regional coordinations. These coordinations foster the establishment of working groups and networking initiatives aimed at addressing national and regional issues pertinent to the social sciences from an interdisciplinary perspective.
The activities of COMECSO are governed by its General Assembly, which convenes annually, as well as a Steering Committee that includes prominent academics and official representatives from 13 universities nationwide, alongside an Executive Secretariat responsible for organizing and coordinating the association’s activities.
