Sharing the INGSA and NASEM Guidebook at the ASAMCO Kick-off Meeting
On December 13, 2024, the Faculty of Veterinary Technology at Kasetsart University, Bangkok hosted the ASAMCO Kick-Off Meeting, a pivotal gathering of leading experts and practitioners focused on preventing zoonotic diseases at the socio-ecosystem level. Organized under the PREZODE-PREACTS framework, the event facilitated valuable discussions on strategies to address zoonotic spillover challenges in Southeast Asia.
We were honored to be invited to participate in Round Table 2: Presentations and Questions to the Academics and Research Networks. During the session, we presented the INGSA-NASEM Guidebook on Countering Zoonotic Spillover of High Consequence Pathogens in Southeast Asia, a resource developed to support policymakers and practitioners in mitigating zoonotic risks.
The discussions during the roundtable provided not only an opportunity to showcase the Guidebook but also a platform to learn from and engage with leading experts representing international organizations. Through active dialogue, we explored synergies, discussed shared challenges, and identified actionable strategies for addressing zoonotic spillover risks at the regional and global levels.
We are grateful to the ASAMCO organizers for the opportunity to share our work and engage in thoughtful dialogue with esteemed professionals in the field. Such events underscore the critical importance of cross-sectoral collaboration in safeguarding public, animal, and environmental health.
