The Geneva Science and Diplomacy Anticipator (GESDA) was founded as a think-and-do tank, providing deep foresight into the challenges facing humanity. By working at the critical juncture of science and diplomacy they are looking to create and empower a space where anticipation of problems and their potential solutions can advance international collaboration on shared challenges.
The keystone of their work is the GESDA Science Radar that provides in-depth foresight analysis of technologies 5, 10 and 25 years into the future to help arm the public and policymakers with the information to amplify the benefits of these technologies and protect against the harms.
As part of GESDA’s work, in 2022 they launched their Science Diplomacy training week and invited INGSA, as a foundational partner, to develop a gamified case study exploring the issue of quantum technology and how to potentially regulate powerful new tech.
The opening ceremony of the 2022 GESDA Science Diplomacy Week is available to watch on YouTube.

The INGSA Case Study on Quantum was a success and has been used subsequently by GESDA to help scientists and diplomats interrogate some of the trade offs and conundrums they might need to deal with in future.
