ESAF/INGSA Joint Meeting – Ireland, June 2019
On the 26th and 27th June, the European Science Advisors Forum (ESAF) and INGSA ran a joint meeting at Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland. Hosted by Science Foundation Ireland, the meeting brought together high-level representatives from across Europe, including the European Commission, the Science Advice Mechanism (SAM) and Joint Research Centre (JRC), Chief Scientific Advisors, academics and practitioners.
Politics, science and society are all being affected by the advancement of technology and there is debate about the effect of this on democracy, governance and civil society. Attended by some of Europe’s most distinguished and active thinkers on these issues, the meeting was a powerful reflection on some of the major challenges facing Europe and the world.
