INGSA honours the life and work of Mr Koji Omi

Everyone at INGSA is saddened to hear of the passing of Koji Omi, Founding Chairman of the highly-respected STS Forum, Kyoto. Our sincerest condolences go out to his family, friends and colleagues.

As a former Minister of Finance and former Minister of State for Science and Technology Policy, Omi-san realised that science and technology were a part of a broader social, economic and cultural network. Only by fostering diverse, nuanced, and international discussions would humankind be equipped to confront the challenges facing all of us.

Under Omi-san’s leadership and vision, the STS Forum was founded in 2004, and remains one of the key events for practitioners working at the interface between science, society and policy.

Koji Omi leaves behind a towering legacy and INGSA will honour his vision by continuing to build upon the foundations he set down.
